As the design director for The Gates Notes, my task was to conceptualize
and create imagery that would accompany the weekly article posts and social initiatives.
My goal was to elevate the look of each campaign that required a bit more creativity without relying too much on photography or stock imagery.
I’ve taken a more editorial approach to the quick-turn-around image creation.

I would also work along side the designers and motion designers to give them feedback on animation and style to make each campaign more consistent.
These are just a sampling of the many campaigns I’ve touched and have been hands-on.

The Gates Notes had an annual campaign called “Mosquito Week” which was a nod to Shark Week.
Little do people know that mosquitos are more dangerous than any shark, since it has killed more people, making it the most dangerous animal in the world.
I recruited fellow key art designers, Kyle Moriwaki and Cryssy Cheung and worked along side them to create various “horror” inspired mosquito posters.

Beyond creating images for article posts, I have also art directed motion heavy social posts.
These were animated by Michael Luckhardt.
